Sustainability

Our responsibility to society and the environment

We consider culture a fundamental human need. At the same time, it costs resources and therefore has an impact on our environment and society. In order to minimize this impact of our work, we have been working on sustainability concepts for our various business areas for many years. In addition, we channel the incomparable atmosphere of great events to inspire our guests towards ecological and social sustainability.

At its most basic level, we define sustainability as the responsible use of resources, ensuring equal access for everyone - today and in the future. In our context, this means life-affirming practices that do not hinder or discourage future generations from enjoying live entertainment. Therefore, we are committed to developing actionable strategies and measures to reduce negative impacts on the environment and society across all our business areas, and to maximize our positive impact.

It is important to us that sustainability is not seen as a space for profiling, but as a space for learning and improvement. This includes the greatest possible transparency and the realization that, despite our achievements, there is still a lot to do.

Our responsibility consists of:

  • Lowering our negative impact (e. g. CO2 emissions or energy from non-renewable sources)
  • Increasing our positive impact by setting good examples and using the publicity of our events to inspire change
  • Continuing to bring people together through live entertainment, aiming that our events need to be(come) as accessible and affordable as possible
  • Avoiding empty promises and greenwashing by holding ourselves accountable through data and public transparency
  • Making sure that the inevitable consequences of climate change do not affect the safety or well-being of our guests, for example by investing in climate adaption measures for our open-air events
  • Complying with international standards, such as the EU CSRD
  • We want to inspire others and be inspired by them in return. Together with our partners, we aim to learn and grow.

Areas of Action

We consider the following topics as most relevant for our work

We identified six key Areas of Action that we consider most relevant for our work. These are based on areas where we see a negative impact from our actions, which we aim to reduce, as well as areas with a positive impact that we want to enhance.

The Areas of Action were identified through a process that began with a materiality analysis (conducted by CTS Eventim), followed by a reflection and adaptation of certain areas, with a specific focus on live entertainment. The focus on those Areas of Action does not mean that other aspects are disregarded. Rather, they provide direction, helping us strategically align our efforts with the areas most relevant to our activities. The following six Areas of Action were developed in 2024/2025 and form the framework for our strategic direction. We will continuously review and adjust them as necessary.
