Responsibility to society and the environment

Human-made climate change and its consequences are an uncomfortable but irrefutable fact. Events can contribute to CO₂ emissions, for example through (guest) mobility, energy use and production-related activities in general. Developing a better understanding of the emissions associated with an event, for example through event carbon footprints, helps us identify where action is possible and where cooperation with our partners is essential. We therefore want to work on generating a better understanding of relevant emissions.

Emissions are commonly considered across three scopes:  

• Scope 1: Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources (e.g. offices, fuel combustion)
   
• Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heat or steam
   
• Scope 3: Other indirect emissions, including those from the value chain (e.g. transportation, guest mobility, waste and product use)
   

We also want to consider the consequences of climate change for the safety and well-being of our guests, for example by investing in climate adaption measures to ensure that more frequent extreme weather events do not hinder the realization of our open-air events. 

Live entertainment and office operations require a wide range of materials, including production set-ups, banners, packaging, equipment and many other items. We want to improve the longevity of these resources and keep as many reusable materials as possible in circulation.

Close cooperation with our partners, including venues and service providers, is essential to developing suitable approaches. The specific measures depend on the requirements of each event and location and are communicated through the respective event or festival channels.

We don’t consider ticket-buyers our customers, but our guests. Therefore, we want our events to be welcoming, safe and respectful places for people from all walks of life. We aim to make our events as accessible as possible and to help create an environment in which everyone feels welcome, safe and accepted. Neither disability, gender, ethnicity, personal and economic circumstances nor sexual orientation should make our guests feel any less welcome.

The measures implemented to support accessibility, safety and inclusion depend on the respective event and location. Further information can be found through the relevant event and festival channels.

As a pan-European promoter for live entertainment, we consider it our responsibility to use our events as a stage for the most pressing issues of our time. We therefore inform our guests about relevant topics, our progress and our challenges, while also sharing the spotlight with NGOs and charities to foster knowledge and support fundraising activities. Over the past years, we have established several collaborations supporting local and international initiatives at our different offices.

We want to inspire our guests and partners while contributing to dialogue in society and the live entertainment industry. This includes engaging with guests, partners and artists.

FKP Scorpio brings people together through live music and entertainment. Our journey from an indie promoter to Europe-wide company has always been – and still is – driven by our love for music and for creating great places for people to come together. We strive to create those moments of magic between people that can only be evoked live.

It is important to us that our employees and all people we work with are met with friendliness, respect, and understanding, ensuring that talents have the room to thrive. Since the size and working environment of our offices vary by country, the corresponding measures also differ from office to office in order to meet specific needs.

For us, shaking hands to settle a deal still holds true. We value honesty and transparency. Whenever possible, we want to strengthen cooperation with people and organisations that share our values of environmental and social responsibility. We also want to share the reach of our events with social and ecological initiatives wherever appropriate.
